Call of the Wild wildlife mixtures are formulated to be planted into soil types from sandy loam to heavy clay.
The plot should in a location that it will receive 50% sunlight.
For best results food plot area should be free of vegetation and may need to be sprayed with a herbicide like Round-up
Maximum results come from a plot that is well tilled, a disc, cultivator or roto-tiller can be used.
Fertilizer should be incorporated into the soil, 18-18-18 at a rate of 200 lb. /acre.
Seed should be broadcast evenly and covered ( ½”), dragging a section of chain link fence works well. Packing the area will greatly help seed to soil contact and quicker germination.
Rainfall and other weather conditions will greatly effect growth of plot.
Allow 6 -8 weeks for establishment.
Turkey Treat and Hunters Choice can be used as a Throw & Grow or a no-till food plot in hard to get to areas.
Perennials should last for several years. Mowing in early August will rejuvenate plants and promote new growth.
Safe Hunting
Mixtures may contain: Soybean, Forage Peas, Winter Wheat, Oats, Sunflower, Buck Wheat, Perennial Rye, Alfalfa, Red, Alsike, Ladino, White Clovers, Birdsfoot Trefoil, Creeping Red Fescue, Millets, Winter Canola, Forage Rape, Kale, Stubble Turnip, Chicory, Sugar Beet.
